Pumpkin Patchen'

October has been somewhat of a difficult month health-wise as it relates to the Fox Clan. We started off with a bout of the flu and then moved onto some pesky colds. This has made our outings a bit grumpy to say the least. However, for the third year in a row, Sally & I have taken the kids to a pumpkin patch in south San Jose. This is the scene of our first lolly~curtisy of Mummy Sally. The "patch" is now followed by Uncle Donalds (McDonalds). Sally and i have fun, but next year we are thinking Aqui's where they have adult beverages!

 

Welcome to the World Baby Molly

Our friends Karin and Randy welcomed Molly Elizabeth Waltz to the world on a crisp October morning. She weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces and 19.5 inches long. She looks just like Jack in my opinion. When told of the news, Ben asked "does she know how to share?" Always thinking that little boy.

 

Surprise~You got me!

The 20/20 celebrating continues. My good friends Austy & Erika duped me. I thought we were to have a nice relaxing dinner at Pebble Beach just the three of us and possibly Karin. See previous post, she is super pregnant! Well after a lovely massage and late lunch, we casually got ready for dinner and much to my surprise the minute I walked out there to see what I thought was Karin, there was Sally, Stacy & Shannon. They drove the hour down from San Jose to celebrate with me. It was a lovely surprise and I'm so glad they were there to celebrate. Dinner was yummy, but the company even better. Thanks Austy & Erika for organizing. I'm not easily surprised~so good one!

My October 20-20 Celebrations!

I started my birthday celebrating a little early this year. It is a big one, so why not celebrate weeks in advance. My good friend Karin is due to have her third child next week, so in light of her pending busy schedule she treated me to a 70-minute pedicure and lunch at Rosewood. After a filling lunch, we were pampered with champagne & foot massages. It was topped off by an afternoon of kid-free shopping at Stanford and Sprinkles cupcakes. Thanks Karin~it was lovely!

  

 

Tammy & Greg tie the knot

What a weekend it was! It started off a bit rough (stomach flu by 3 of the 4 of us-Eric was the luck man out). We were even so generous to give it to Nana. It was a lovely ceremony. The boys sat through the whole thing with a little help from our friends York Peppermint Patty, Lolly Pop and Maryland Nana and Papa. From what I can tell the both walked down the isle swinging the pillows and promptly asked when they got to the end of they could have their chocolates! Ben whispered to me half way through the ceremony that he was thirsty. It was by far the best wedding we'd attended since our own and loved every moment of it. All the toasts were lovely and a fun time was had by all!

 

 

 

 

 

Tammy & Greg rehearsal dinner!

44 Months

It has been an interesting month around the Fox household. The boys started their second year of preschool and now attend 3-days a week and love it. They are in Tzabim this year (that's Turtles in hebrew). Adam has had a significant jump in his language recently. It seems like all the jumbled sounds are coming together as words. I really feel like we are getting to know him as a person. He has also masted peddling (finally)! We can now stroll around the block riding our bikes or big wheels. It's great. Benjamin continues to push the envelope. Insisting on getting his way and being first. It's hard to explain that you don't always win in life. They have both also taken to hitting and scratching on another to get their way. Notice the large scratch on Adam's face in the above picture. Eric took away Ben's favorite toy of the week (Chick Hicks) and said he could have it back when the scar was gone. Brilliant!

the party is over...time for some zzzz's

After 4 long months of bedtime parties, by the boys that is, we finally got smart and separated them for bedtime. Yes, duh!? Since the introduction of Big Boy Beds, there has been some serious partying. Jumping off beds, climbing on bookcases, spinning in the Yellow Chair, fighting-complete with scratching injuries, puzzle playing--you name it they've been there. We got the bright idea to separate them after a parent education meeting. While we do not have enough room to give them their own rooms, this is a temporary solution that is working. I just wonder why we didn't think of it sooner-it's not rocket science!

Hot September days

We are having an extremely hot September. Each time we've had a small bit of coolness I think I'm ready, but then change my mind. NOW I think I'm really ready. Almost 2 weeks of hot temperatures has done me. Bring on fall already. Getting through the heatwave we've retreated once again to the beach. We tried a new beach this time as recommended by my fellow twin mom Amy Trayer called Twin Lakes State Beach. It was great, the kids had a ball and there were bathrooms close by. With 3 potty trained little boys, Karin and I like to limit the "drop your drawers" anywhere occasions. In this pic, the boys didn't know what was coming, but I did.

Today we ventured to Dr. Trager's office for a flu shot. I cannot tell you how wonderful it has been to not have visited him since March. While I love Dr. Trager, a visit to him usually means we are sick. Yick. Today we were trying to prevent the flu. Does it work? I have no idea, but in any case we were there. I went first-no tears-yeah me. Ben was next-a little prick-and NO tears. Adam was last-a little prick-and NO TEARS! It was our most successful trip for shots ever. Ben's toy surprise from Dr. Trager was a pencil, Adam's a plastic bug and me (YES, me) a sticker. As we were leaving in the car Ben announces, loud and clear "I want to be Dr. Trager when I grow up" (I was so proud-it was fleeting) as in the same breath he said "no, I want to be a pencil!"
